It was great to see y’all Monday night to enjoy a meal, fellowship, and encouragement by gathering together.
Army Veteran, Ray Tear led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Ben Robert, our Legacy Chaplain, said the opening prayer.
The Cook Team put together an awesome fish fry with hush puppies and coleslaw.
Thanks to all who brought new guys with you to the meeting. This is the primary way that the ministry of Legacy Outfitters grows to reach more men in our area.
Cody Wells presented a series of photos that both gave us a good laugh and helped us to celebrate the success of recent hunting and fishing trips.
Terry Newman encouraged us to participate in the Focus Group meetings to have spiritual conversations with men who share the same outdoor interests.
Scott also touched on this month's Fire Pit Topic, Accountability. He reminded us that while the world glorifies individuality that we should instead walk with one another and hold each other accountable.
We welcomed the guys from Milam County and celebrated the start of the new Legacy Outfitters chapter there.
In light of several recent funerals, Jeff Fritscher spoke about each of us leaving a legacy when that day comes for us. Jeff reminded us that NOW is the time to start working on our walk with Jesus. To finish the race well we need to start the race first and then run it during our time on earth. Our race ends when die. He challenged us to reflect on what kind of testimony we would like to leave. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Jeff asked that we all have a life verse and a favorite bible story so that when it comes time for our funeral the story that is told is about our walk with Him.
To this end Jeff challenged us to read the book of Daniel. He told us the if we are looking for an example of a “Real Man” that we need look no further than Daniel. I won’t recount all Jeff said but he made 3 observations about his life:
1. He was anchored in God’s word.
2. His faithfulness gave him “Courage under Pressure”.
3. He had a Deep Dependance on God.
Jeff asked us to start today, not tomorrow, to be more rooted in God’s word. He asked us to work on our dependance upon God using Daniels example in chapters 2 and 6, to seek Him even when it may cost us something. When we do this, we will realize that God is doing for us what we couldn’t do for ourselves. We all want to be better husbands; better fathers and the men God has called us to be. Don’t wait, begin now, God is present with you today just like He was with Daniel in the lion’s den.
We had some incredibly good spiritual conversations around our tables.
Jeff closed us in prayer.
Next month's meeting is the crawfish boil on Monday, May 11. The meeting will be in the new building at Arrowheads Bow shop 1125 E McGregor Dr, McGregor, TX 76657
